Our Story
Founded to be a bridge between orphan care homes
The Arab African Sports Foundation for Orphans (AASFO) aims to coordinate and connect institutions and homes dedicated to orphans across the world, for their social advancement and the raising of a safe, stable generation that helps build communities — contributing to a more just and peaceful world.
As the international community's priorities turn toward different segments of Arab and African society, especially orphaned children, we found no better way to bring these children together than sport — a universal language that unites peoples and nations, beyond divisions, color, race, origin, social class, language, religion, political opinion, and conflict.
In light of this, the Foundation offers advice and guidance to institutions and homes specializing in orphan care, and works to coordinate between them to hold sporting competitions, festivals, and championships that help bring these children closer together, and to provide them with a dignified, healthy environment — in accordance with the regulations in force in each country.

The Arab African Sports Foundation for Orphans (AASFO) was founded, under the provisions of Law No. 149 of 2019 regulating civil work.

Why Sport?
As affirmed by the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child
A child is any human being who has not yet reached the age of eighteen. Sport plays a fundamental role in a child's physical, mental, psychological, and social development.
Sport improves a child's health and academic performance, and helps reduce their drift toward crime. It also opens opportunities to exchange experience, build relationships, and engage different community organizations in achieving shared goals.
Orphan care refers to the efforts made by institutions and civil-sector organizations to provide orphans with a dignified life and a sound upbringing, by securing their varied needs, in an environment built on social justice and solidarity — and letting them know they are cared for by their community.
Quality of Life for Orphans
Sport is a need, not a luxury
Quality of life includes everything an individual enjoys in housing, clothing, food, and drink, as well as non-material needs like education, healthcare, and a clean environment. We believe sport should be counted among these non-material needs tied to quality of life — one that must be made available to our orphaned children.
